This week saw the release of the new James Cameron movie, Avatar, which remind me a sentence you said

So now, I would like to hear your answer to this question ?
The answer is : I dont know. It’s a bit of both i guess but trying to answer that question is part of the process of realizing how crazy and far away from nature this whole thing is.
Nowadays we get that much music that we don’t even have time to listen to it… So, don’t you think semeone have to react by creating a kind of virus that could eradicate young skillless producers ?
Haha good idea. But you`re right, there is way too much mediocre stuff out there, way more quantity than quality…
I can only hope that eventually people will be able to discover what they really like and rather buy 10 good albums instead of downloading 1000 for free !
It also bring over the question of silence in our hyperactive society, wich is less and less existing, and tend to become a luxury. So don’t you think music, and particularly music producers, have lost this foundamental concept of silence nowadays ?
I think people in general, not only music producers have lost that concept.
There is so much input the whole time that can not be processed that it might be a better idea to step away from it sometimes and see what really matters.
I have to take some time out sometimes, not listen to any music, dont read any mails and just go walk in the forest. That is the best source of creativity.
And so as Chris Clark said to us recently, (here) do you share the opinion that we will arrive to a point of no return, that can just end by a total revolution of music, and way to dread it ?
I`m afraid humans only react and are willing to change when it hurts.
Just see what happens in copenhagen last week. It is clear to everybody in the world that we have to do things to save the planet and those politicians still can`t agree on anything significant.
I guess it has to become much worse before people start moving their ass in the right direction.
We also tend to be less and less human, don’t you think robots will be the next Johan Sebastien Bach, or Aphex Twin maybe ?
Humanity evolves and cyborgs are not even a distant idea anymore. Machines become more and more powerful and they can be technically better than humans but they can’t beat human feelings.
In the end a good tune can come out of the feeling of sadness, i dont think a machine could feel that way.
Let’s imagine Humans disapears, and you are the last guy on earth able to record a message (in a robot) for when aliens come over, what will it be ?
